How we manage our puppies
About Us

All of Our Labradors used for breeding are:

- OFA hip, elbow and heart certified
- eyes certified yearly
- Optigen normal
- thyroid tested normal.

Prior to leaving all of our puppies are:

- vet checked
- wormed 3x
- first vaccine
- temperament tested
- micro-chipped

Each Lugger puppy leaves with a puppy packet that contains:

- Feeding information and schedule
- Lots of crate, house and obedience training information
- Vaccine schedule
- 4 generation pedigree
- List of items we have found thru the years to be the best choices for Labradors
- A Toy that littermates have played with
- Eukanuba puppy packet
- Home Again micro-chip registration completed at pick up
- AKC Limited Registration

All of our puppies are sold as pets and come with an AKC Limited Registration. All puppies are must be spayed or neutered.

How many puppies did you count? There are 17 all together. One litter of 11 ylws, one litter of 6 chocolates.
It is not uncommon for female dogs to come into season at the same time. Here at Lugger Labradors all of the girls are usually in season together, so for us it is either feast or famine when it comes to available puppies.

How NOT to buy a dog or puppy

There are hundreds of thousands of dogs suffering in commercial kennels across this country. They are kept in small cages for their entire lives. They are bred every time they come into season from six months on - twice a year, every year, year, after year, after year. They freeze in the winter with no heat and swelter in the summer. These dogs never know a loving touch. Never have a single toy. Never have a soft bed or a treat. Commercial kennels breed dogs to sell to Pet Stores. Many people feel they are "rescuing" dogs when they get their dog at a Pet Store.
The simple act of buying that one poor, sad puppy at a Pet Store promotes and supports the continuation of these conditions.
If every person in this country stopped buying dogs in Pet Stores, the commercial kennels would go out of business and the puppymills would end. Please tell everyone you know about the connection between Pet Stores and puppymills.

The average dog lives for 15 years. That's a long commitment ~ are you ready? They are!

Rescue Dogs

We are very sensitive to the plight of dogs who are in need of rescue. They can not help their circumstances, but we can.
If a puppy is not quite right for you, consider adopting a dog in need.
