Welcome to New York in the Winter!

Our house January 2003, 20 inches of snow!

I have owned Labrador Retrievers for over 38 years, working with them in obedience for over 25 years and involved in showing and breeding my Labs for over 14 years. I am a member of the Miami Valley Labrador Retriever Club, which is located in Ohio. Since I am a "long distance" member my involvement is limited to the annual specialty show.

Lugger Labradors is located in the southern tier of New York State. We are surrounded by acres of fields and forest. Our kennel name, "Lugger" is a family term we have used for big dogs all my life. It comes from large dogs sitting on us as children and we would say, "You big lug get off me." Thus Lugger Labradors was born along with my definition,
Lug-gêr, n, one who holds another, amorously, with ones weight.

Our family consists of my husband, myself, our two children; one in college and one college graduate, along with our wonderful Labradors. Our dogs live in the house, sleep on the furniture and are part of the family.

They also have a pond out back so they can swim (when it is thawed out) and practice retrieving. They have a large fenced in field where they can run but most of the time they prefer the couch or surround me when I am in my office on the computer. Let the wild life have the pond.
